This Moment's Obession - My Halloween Look
I don't usually celebrate Halloween. If I do anything, I end up watching The Nightmare Before Christmas and cleaning my apartment.
However, last Halloween, my nephew was born. So now I'm obligated to dress up for his birthday party.
I had 2 weeks and no idea what I wanted to be. I got a semblance of an idea and went hunting online for the missing pieces.
After spending the better part of an afternoon looking and failing to find what I had in mind, I found something better. It was on sale (plus). It wasn't sold out in my size (double plus). Shipping did cost more than what I was paying for the costume and it may only arrive the day before I needed it. But, it was a risk I was willing to take. Because I needed this in my life.
It arrived quickly and fits perfectly. And, most importantly, I GET TO BE LOKI FOR HALLOWEEN!
I am so in love with this dress. This weekend, I have a costume birthday
Now that I have the outfit, I needed to complete the look. I'm awful at styling my hair, but I love the makeup part (clearly). Thankfully for me, Loki's hair is pretty easy and completely in my realm of capability. So that just left my makeup.
This is what I came up with:
To create this look, I used the Kat Von D Spellbinding Eyeshadow Palette.
I used 8 Bit on the inter lid. In the centre, I used Sunset Blvd and I darkened it up on the edge with Gunner and Dark Throne. I finished off the eyes with Precious on the brow bone.
I kept my face makeup simple. I used my usual concealer and foundation routine. On my lips, I wanted to bring the gold out a little more and keep the lip light. I used MAC Bronze Shimmer frosted lipstick.
I pulled my hair back from my face. When I straighten it, I flipped the ends out. I got some black hairspray (I am currently blonde) to finish my hair off. I also filled in my brows a bit darker than usual, to go with my hair.
